It is through this that the Church will begin anthem every morning prayer of praise during Lent. This antiphon the essence mark this liturgical season: we enter the battle of God! Two biblical texts have inspired this sentence (Numbers 21 -6 to 9 and Hebrews 12.2).
Lent is not only a self-effort to better do what we fail to do normally; it is not only a time for extra effort of solidarity. Lent would help us free ourselves from unfounded certainties of enslavement and dependence, frustrations and desires, breeding ground for violence and hatred.
This is the time when we put ourselves in the school of the Holy Spirit when we are transformed by it, to get us out of our torpor, our burdens.

Jesus comes to lead us to resist evil and sin and especially to engage with him out of darkness into His light (John 8:12) and lies to the truth "if the son sets you free, you shall be free indeed" (John 8.36) It is with him that we can fight the fight of God.
By his fights Jesus, refusing houston to idolatry, domination by money, houston the easy success, magic, wonderful, everyone makes himself available to the action of the Spirit and accessing the inner freedom, houston without which it is not possible to be truly a man or woman in the image of God.
